On March 25, Dongguan City issued the "Several Measures for Dongguan City to Accelerate the High-Quality Development of the Mold Industry" (hereinafter referred to as the "Measures"). The "Measures" proposed to focus on Dongguan's mold industry, aiming to accelerate the development of the mold industry, consolidate the basic supporting capabilities of Dongguan's mold industry, and support the high-quality development of Dongguan's manufacturing industry.

The Measures clearly state that in order to promote the introduction and cultivation of enterprises and implement provincial policies to accelerate the investment and construction of advanced manufacturing projects, qualified mold projects will be rewarded according to the amount of investment in new industrial plants and newly purchased production equipment. At the same time, the mold industry in Dongguan will be promoted to expand into new energy vehicles, 3D printing and other fields, with a focus on supporting the introduction of advanced mold manufacturing projects such as laser manufacturing, additive manufacturing, and integrated die casting.

In the field of product research and development and innovation, the measure proposes that Dongguan City will provide support in the field of key core technology research and development, carry out key technology research and development in key areas such as mold design and manufacturing technology, mold material heat treatment, mold forming process, additive manufacturing casual cooling water channel design and processing technology, and other key technologies and processes. It will carry out cutting-edge research on key technologies for large, precise, and complex compression molds for molding composite materials and micron-level precision injection mold technology. If the R&D projects comply with the provisions of the "Implementation Measures for Major Science and Technology Projects in Dongguan City (Trial)", they will be subsidized according to relevant project standards.
